What We Believe

Every church has a story and ours is one of God’s faithfulness.

In this special “Who We Are” video, we look back at the history of New Covenant Church through the voices of those who have led us along the way. Hear from our founding pastor and the two pastors who followed him as they share how the Holy Spirit has guided our church from the very beginning—and where He’s leading us next. From humble beginnings to a growing community passionate about Jesus, our story is proof that God is still moving and still changing lives in Clyde and beyond.

WE BELIEVE....
  • The Bible is the only inspired and infallible, authoritative Word of God. (II Timothy 3:16)
  • There is one God, eternally existent in three persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. (I John 5:7)
  • In the Deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth in power and glory to rule for a thousand years. (John 1:1, Luke 1:26-38, Hebrews 7:26, John 2:11, I/ Corinthians 5:15, John 20:25-31, Acts 1:9, / Thessalonians 4:16, 17, Revelation 20:1-6)
  • In the Blessed Hope, the personal return of Jesus Christ to receive His church. (l Thessalonians 4:16,17)
  • That the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the blood of Christ. (Ephesians 1:7-8)
  • Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation. (Titus 3:5)
  • Water Baptism, immersion in water for believers only; identifying them with the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ. (Matthew 28:19)
  • The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer. (I Peter 2:24, James 5:14)
  • The Baptism of the Holy Spirit according to Acts 2:4 is given to believers who ask for it.
  • In the sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life. (1 Corinthians 6:11)
  • In the resurrection of both the saved and the lost- the saved to everlasting life, and the other to everlasting damnation. (Revelation 20)
  • In Deliverance, the expelling of evil spirits in the Name of Jesus. (Mark 16:17)
  • Communion: The Lord's Supper is a covenant meal for believers with the bread representing the body of Jesus Christ and the cup representing the new covenant in His blood. (1 Corinthians 10:16)
  • Laying on of hands is effective in setting aside people to perform specific duties related to ministry, in praying for the sick (James 5:14), the dedication of infants and the impartation of spiritual blessings. (I Timothy 4:14)
  • The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through Spirit, with divine appointments for the fulfillment of Jesus’ great commission. Every person who is born of the Spirit is an integral part of the church as a member of the body of believers. There is a spiritual unity of all believers in our Lord Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1: 22, 2: 19-22, Hebrews 12: 23, John 17:11, 20-23)
  • Marriage: God ordained marriage only as a covenantal union between one man and one woman, which He established at creation and which the Lord Jesus and His apostles affirmed. (Genesis 1:26-28, 2:15-25; Matthew 19:4-6; Hebrews 13:4) God intends marriage to reflect the union between Christ and the Church. Men and women are made in the image of God and therefore have equal dignity and worth. However, a husband and a wife have been given different roles within the marriage relationship to fulfill God's design. A husband is to love his wife as Christ loved the Church, while a wife is to submit herself to the loving leadership of her husband just as the Church willingly submits to the headship of Christ. (Ephesians 5:22-33; Corinthians 11:3-12)
  • Sexuality Immorality: Sexuality is God's design. He alone can define the parameters for its use. The Bible is clear that sex was created to be enjoyed between one man and one woman who are in a covenant marriage until one of them dies. (Matthew 19:6) Sexuality is His sacred wedding gift to human beings. Any expression or it outside those parameters constitutes abuse of God's gift. Abuse is the use of people or things in ways they were not designed. The Bible calls this sin. Adultery, premarital sex, pornography, and homosexual relations are outside God's design, which makes them sin.
